DIY Succulent Candle Jar Planter - Pour & Penchant

DIY Succulent Candle Jar Planter

Candle jar planters are a fun way to repurpose containers after the wax is burned. The first thing you will need to do is clean out the old wax. You can read our previous post on how to clean out a candle jar HERE.

You will need the following materials:
  • Candle Jar
  • Mini 2" potted succulents, we found ours at Home Depot for around $3.99
  • Decorative sand or Spanish moss

A few simple steps and you are on your way to creating a unique way to repurpose your candle jars:

  1. Fill the bottom of the candle jar with about 1" of sand.

  2. Gently set your plant or succulent on the bottom.

  3. Slowly fill the container with sand by rotating it around as you add decorative sand around the base of the plant.

  4. Make sure the plant is secure before filling the jar to the top with sand or moss.

You can also use small herbs or plants creating a window sill container herb garden. Remember to water infrequently or as needed. A few drops here and there are all the plants need to stay hydrated.

You are all set! Your little DIY candle jar planters are sure to brighten up your space.
