A behind-the-scenes look at how we make candles at Pour & Penchant

After pouring the candles they set to room temperature. 24 hours later candles are ready for labels, initial wick trim, lids and off to cure for 45 days!
WAXES & WICKS
90-95% of a scented candle is wax. The wax used in candles is one of the most significant contributors to scent throw, lifespan, and burn quality.
At Pour & Penchant, we created our wax blend to produce a highly fragrant, clean, and evenly burning candle experience. Our wax is a proprietary blend of all-natural coconut and vegetable waxes with a minuscule amount of food-grade paraffin added for optimal fragrance diffusion. The precise blending of three different waxes is key to the craftsmanship of a quality candle. Our proprietary wax blend is vegan, gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and comes from renewable sources.
Our all-natural cloth wicks are constructed from reinforced ring-spun cotton that burns with a tighter curl for a consistent and even flame. It is essential to properly maintain your wicks between burn cycles by trimming them to 1/4 inch. Trimmed wicks burn cleaner and extend the life of the candle while optimizing fragrance diffusion. Our wicks are lead and zinc free.
The cure time is the waiting period before lighting a candle. It is our observation that 45 days is the optimal cure time for a fully developed hot throw. Waiting the appropriate cure time will optimize candle performance and fill your home with a high intensity, room-filling fragrance.
